MultiPlan Has a New Name: What Providers Should Know About Claritev
What to Know about Multiplan's Rebrand to Claritev

If you’re a provider contracted with MultiPlan—or see patients with insurance cards that reference PHCS or Beech Street—you’ll want to pay close attention to a recent rebrand that might cause some confusion at the front desk.

MultiPlan, Inc. has officially changed its name and branding to Claritev. While the company says the change is part of a larger effort to reflect its innovation and technology focus, we know many providers are wondering: Does this change anything for me? Let’s break it down.

What’s Changing?

  • MultiPlan is now doing business as Claritev (i.e., MultiPlan, Inc. d/b/a Claritev).
  • The company has a new logo and branding.
  • That’s it—for now.

According to Claritev’s leadership, this is a name and brand update only. Contracts, networks, ID cards, and contact information all remain the same.

What Isn’t Changing?

  • Your current contract remains valid.
  • Reimbursement rates and payment terms stay the same.
  • No re-credentialing is required.
  • ID cards will still show network names like MultiPlan, PHCS, or Beech Street.
  • The provider portal login remains unchanged.

If you or your front office staff are used to seeing MultiPlan listed as a payor or printed on ID cards, you don’t need to take any action. You can continue verifying eligibility and billing as usual.

Why the Name Change?

MultiPlan says the rebrand reflects its broader mission as a healthcare technology and insights company, moving beyond just network management into a more comprehensive role in affordability and care delivery. The new name, Claritev, is meant to highlight transparency and innovation.

The company has clarified that MultiPlan will continue as a product brand, especially for network references.

“We are proud of the MultiPlan heritage and will continue to use MultiPlan as a product brand for our network, which is well recognized and branded today.” — Claritev Provider Announcement

What You Should Do

  • Share this information with your scheduling and billing team. They may get calls from patients confused by the change or wondering if they’re still in-network.
  • Continue accepting ID cards and verifying benefits as usual.
  • Bookmark Claritev’s updated provider portal and keep an eye out for future updates:

Will This Affect Credentialing?

Not at this time. According to Claritev, there are no changes to credentialing processes and no new contracts to sign. Any future updates will come with “ample notice.”

Why It Matters to pie Clients

At pie, we work with many providers who are credentialed with MultiPlan (now Claritev). These types of name changes can sometimes cause confusion with eligibility, billing, and documentation. That’s why we’re flagging it early, so your practice can stay ahead of any hiccups.

We’ll continue monitoring Claritev’s communications for any updates to credentialing, contracts, or network structure. If any changes occur, we’ll provide step-by-step guidance to our clients.
